  • Christmas was lovely and wonderful.  We spent the 23rd with Seth's family and Christmas day with mine.  We ate delish food, drank delish beverages...which mostly I did not get to drink, opened wonderful, thoughtful presents, ate some more, drank some more, napped a little and ate some more.

Most honorable present mentions: my Dankso shoes which are currently saving my sciatica (sp?), AND my gift certificate to All Fired Up which includes a "date" there with my mom...I have been wanting to go since before Silas was born. WAHOO!

As always, I suck at picture taking, so I actually don't have very many at Carlson's and NONE (ugh, I know, it's terrible...it was DAY 2 - what can I say?) at my parents'.   Anyway, I have a couple, so go to my myspace and see them there (I know everyone here has one, so don't be lazy and expect that I will post them in two places - because I AM lazy! :o)

I hope everyone's Christmas was as joyous as ours.

    *EDITED FOR DIANA'S PERSONAL PLEASURE*

Si Dog has yet to know about his kitchen...he slept through present opening - and Seth hasn't put it together yet, so as of right now it is still in a box in his bedroom and he doesn't seem to notice.

Our parents DID love the photo books.  They were well received and it was so exciting to see them love them so much.

Silas also got a mini guitar from Uncle/Auntie Poophead and he loves it too!

  • I subbed for Bunco this evening. It happened to be a Christmas gift exchange.  I came home with a SUPER sweet Hurley makeup bag.  I thought some mean girl might steal it from me as I was third in line, BUT I think they all knew how much I loved it and they all stayed back.  BOOHAY (that's right, the new booyah) for me.

I think tomorrow is the day for present wrapping.  I have waited all this time as I am not going to put wrapped presents under the tree for Silas to be constantly trying to unwrap...that doesn't seem very fair to EITHER of us. Haha.  I LOVE wrapping presents.

We bought a space heater for our room and now when we get in bed at night it is gloriously WARM which I love.  I ABSOLUTELY hate getting into a cold bed.  I also bought one for Si Dog's room.  That way we don't have to keep the heat on very warm at night...just enough so we don't freeze the house out.

Anyway, it's now 11:36pm and I keep asking myself, "WHAT THE BLEEP ARE YOU DOING UP??!!" So, I think I must go to bed or I will die tomorrow.

    Five days until Christmas!!!!

  • I know it's being said a lot these days, but it's so true, "I CAN'T WAIT FOR CHRISTMAS!"
I just love this time of year. It's so cozy and exciting to give gifts you know are perfect for the person getting them.

I did a lot of shopping yesterday with my MIL to help make decisions for grandbabies and husbands.  Silas LOVES to be out and is at his very best when he can be seeing all new things...sadly for him (and, well me, for that matter) b/c we definitely spend MOST of our time at home...and these days INSIDE due to ultimately CRAPPY weather...don't let Leanna fool you.  It's not glorious. It's gloomy and soggy.

Diana and I went to Ross the other day as I was searching for a dress to wear to Seth's Christmas party for work.  On our way home from Ross and way down to the right (below and to the right) of the Cypress Bridge I saw THE double stroller I had been researching for when the new addition to the fam comes.  Most of my research showed this stroller as being around $270 new. It's a side by side double but can fit through our front door.  Anyway, but what should APPEAR at the second hand baby store (and displayed for all the world (me) to see outside) was THIS VERY STROLLER.  Diana made a swift decision and got us there in no time...THE WINNING PRICE OF MY NEW DOUBLE STROLLER YOU ASK....$89.00!!
It's ours now and currently waiting to be rolled about come June!
Merry Christmas TO ME - well us, I mean.

  • Today Silas is 15 months...
Here's a little update on the little Si Dogger:

Here's what he likes to say:
    BALL
    DOG
    Uh-ooooooo
    No, NO, no
    Mooooooo
    Rooooooaaarr
    Arf, arf (that's a dog)
    Nana (banana)
    Baba (bottle)
    More

    He will respond to:
How big are you Silas? SOOOOOO BIG (with his arms UP)
Is Spot behind the door, in the piano, under the bed, in the clock, etc. NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
He crawls up to the trash/tp in the bathroom and says, "nononononono" but still insists on pulling it.

He absolutely, positively WILL NOT walk. He could, if he wanted to....

He likes two ornaments on the tree and the rest he could do without.
He doesn't like you to make him physically do things...ie walking, pointing to his eyes, ears, nose or mouth. He LOVES to "hide" things around the house. He will take anything he can crawl with and stick it in Seth's shoes, his diaper trash can, laundry baskets and the bathtub.  The other day he kept asking for his ball. I'd looked ALL around the house and was equally perplexed as to where ALL his balls had gone (haha, bla bla) - finally when I went to give him a bath I pulled back the curtain and there were three balls, his cow and horse and the brand new bottle of teething tablets I was beginning to think HE threw away.

Anyway, there's a little of what he's got going on.  He's a little, stubborn, wonderful boy and I am so excited to see him be a big brother too!
